Pain Made Easy - Taking the 'PAIN' out of 'Pain Education'

The Pain Made Easy - Foundations of Function course uses common language, visual aids, and shareable resources to translate complex advice into easily digestible concepts. The course was created to prevent your clients from transitioning from acute to chronic pain. Additionally, it aims to help you re-focus the care you provide for clients with stubborn or persistent symptoms.

Pain Made Easy creates a user-friendly experience for both you and your client. It is a comprehensive plan centred around 10 easy-to-follow handouts that are given directly to your client.  A scannable QR code on each handout provides valuable education and actions your client can use on their path to recovery. These handouts can be used individually or collectively as a comprehensive client workbook. When combined with the care you already provide, you will immediately see better client understanding and retention of topics crucial for long-term success in recovery from injury.

Often typical practitioner skills are effective in the acute to subacute phases of injury. They are directed at the 'bio' portion of the biopsychosocial model of pain. Many clients will transition from a primarily 'bio' presentation toward a more 'psycho' and 'social' bias as symptoms persist. When this happens, there is a discretely different set of processes responsible for perpetuating their symptoms. Within this course, we will describe the client presentation you may observe during this transition. We will also provide a structured path to follow to avoid an ongoing perpetuation of symptoms.

This course does not dive into the depths of the latest pain science research. This is a practical course that teaches you how to teach your patients to understand and manage their pain. Upon completing this program you will have a clear and concise action plan effective for all of your clients with stubborn or persistent symptoms.

What's Included

In each of ten modules, you will find the following:
  • A Client Handout that is downloadable and printable for use with your clients.
  • Instructional Points  that highlight key talking points for each worksheet. This sheet functions as a 'cheat sheet' to cue you when you are educating your clients.
  • Therapist Education Video discussing how and when to use the handout with your clients.
  • Client Education Video that your client can view to expand on the contents of the handout and reinforce the most important messages.

“Pain Made Easy has proven to be a valuable course for complex condition management in our clinic. It is so effective that we have been applying these concepts in different ways to almost every patient we see. The principles are straightforward but arranged and presented in a format that allows enhanced communication between the therapist and the patient. We are getting to the root of the problem more quickly and subsequently notice a stronger therapeutic relationship develop with patients in a shorter period of time. Cory is clearly an expert in this subject matter and has a passion and enthusiasm that is truly inspiring.” Matt Cairns, Physiotherapist,  Edmonton Alberta
