Description
The Orthopaedic Division of the CPA is now offering its members the opportunity to discuss a case or a condition with an Orthopaedic Division instructor for FREE once a month.
How it works:
There will be 2 categories for registrants:
1. Members who want to discuss a case or condition with the instructor
2. Members who want to listen to the discussion.
The first 6 members who register in category 1 (discuss with the instructor) will be allotted 10 minutes each to discuss their case or condition with the instructor. These members are also welcome to listen to the other 5 cases or conditions during that hour.
The members who want to listen (category 2) can ask questions via the chat box and the instructor may or may not have time to answer these questions.
Note: to register for Category 1 (discuss with the instructor) please email Colleen Dorion at cdorion@physiotherapy.ca
Price:
- Free for Orthopaedic Division Members
- $10 for CPA members (you must authenticate your CPA membership in order to see the CPA pricing tier)
- $20 for Non-CPA Members
Webinar Details:
• Date: February 23, 2026
• Time: 8:00pm EST
• Instructor: Christine Balkwill
February’s instructor is Christine Balkwill BScPT, FCAMPT, Certified Yoga Instructor, CPA
Christine graduated from Queen's University in 1990 with a BScPT and then headed west to BC where she worked briefly in public practice before moving to Treloar Physiotherapy clinic in 1994 where she continues to work 4 days a week. She treats a varied caseload but with a heavy lean toward the lower quadrant and would prefer to field questions in this area. The hip is the largest part of her caseload and colleagues often consult on their tricky GTPS and anterior hip pain patients, many of which are complicated by lumbar spine involvement. She enjoys navigating combined lower quadrant pathologies such as "overuse" or activity related knee strain with multiple factors, including hip and foot function and muscle imbalance. She is a Certified Yoga Instructor and is registered to practice dry needling in BC.
Christine completed her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy in 1998 and joined the instructor roster immediately. She continues to teach Level 2 and 3 courses in the AIM program and help to credential new instructors for those teaching roles. She enjoys her mentorship role, both informally in the clinic and formally through providing structured learning opportunities for AIM exam candidates. In 2007 Christine received the PABC Award of Excellence in the area of Education.
Christine looks forward to assisting you with your clinical reasoning questions and cases.
